Planning a trip to Asia? Well that can be tricky for a variety of reasons. First, Asia itself is so loaded with culture and history, each country in the country can take days, months, even years to fully explore! Still, if you are looking to do a quick trip, here are some helpful tips of where to go and what to see!
Lets start with Thailand, one of the craziest countries that we have in our world. Sure, go visit Bangkok, go have a blast, party, enjoy the culture of Thailand, but also make sure to go to Chiang Mai, which is far less hectic and is much more for the intellectually curious traveller.
Next, lets take a quick tour to Penang, Malaysia one of the most eloquent and peaceful cities in the world. The cuisine is particularly famous, with an abundance of bright and juicy fruits and vegetables. Penang is also famous for their nesting sea turtles, which can be seen at the Penang National Park.
Now, lets go to Singapore, which if you are on a budget, can be tricky. This is not to say that it is impossible, but Singapore tourism tends to be on the more expensive side. Singapore boasts an eclectic group of both Indian and Chinese people, with roots in these cultures represented throughout society. Be careful though! Singapore is known for its tourism, so avoid the “tourist” spots, if you are trying to save money. You will still be able to see a beautiful place.
Next, let’s go to Siem Reap, in Cambodia. The Siem Reap hosts the most fascinating heritage site, the Angkor Wat. This is a temple lover’s paradise. This is a jungle of ancient ruins and vines and temples. For those interested in these old types of artifacts and visuals, this is the perfect trip for you.
Off to China, the most crowded city in all the land! Of course our first stop has to be the legendary Great Wall. Beijing is absolutely bonkers. It is flooded with people, all aggressively going about their own agendas. Don’t be afraid though, Beijing is hectic but it is worth it! You wouldn’t tell someone visiting the United States to skip visiting New York would you? Exactly!
Now we are off to Bali, in Indonesia, home of some of the finest beaches in the world. Perhaps you are not looking to go to beaches in which case, this trip can do without Bali, but if you do, this is THE spot for you. Most of the tourism occurs at Kuta Beach, the most famous beach of Mali.
Lastly, lets go to India, where there is lots to see. Of course, one must travel to New Delhi and Agra and visit the great Taj Mahal. Of course this is a tourist’s dream, but one could also venture to the beautiful beaches of Goa. The scene in Goa is much more of relaxed vacation scene, with even a very popular nude beach. If you are really feeling up for it, venture to the Himalayas, where if you get deep enough, you can see the beginning of Chinese land from the Indian continent.
Needless to say this is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can see in Asia. It all depends on just how much you want to see!
